Kas Poetress, Waco, TX native living in Killeen, recently published her first book of poetry: Love LETTERS which is a collection about the ups and downs of being in a relationship.
Kas won Killeen's first KTX Poetry Slam in April of 2016. This was the first time Kas participated in such a contest and was humbled by her placement.
She has been writing since the age of 12 and performing at open mics and as a feature poet for four years.
Kas says, "Poetry is therapeutic to me, a chance to release and connect with others. While I share pieces of my soul, hopefully I can touch and heal others. At one time, I thought my words were of wee importance, worthless, but as I say in one of my poems, "She Reminded Me...," There's something in my words powerful enough to save someone's life."
